Beautiful interpretations mark the best performances of classical music. They create gorgeous melodies and harmonies that touch the depths of our hearts.  They sound like they're telling a story. Often, they are - composers write to voice famous poems and literature in notes. And even when there isn't a thematic story, every piece is still inspired by its circumstances and the composer's backstory. On Classical Piece of the Week, each post shares the background history and musical analysis on classical pieces ranging from Baroque to early Contemporary. For the musicians, I hope to give context to and inspire your interpretations. And for the audience members, I hope to introduce new pieces and context that make classical music even more captivating.
